The Bread Bar – Colorado’s Coziest Little Wedding Venue

Nestled in a quiet canyon town is a charming cocktail spot called the Bread Bar. It’s an unassuming establishment that calls visitors to slow down and reconnect to nature and each other.

It’s also an idyllic place for a Colorado wedding, thanks to its unique setting and attentive staff. There’s so much to love about The Bread Bar and the town of Silver Plume, so read along to discover more about this beautiful wedding venue.

The Location – Silver Plume, Colorado

Silver Plume, Colorado dubs itself “a living ghost town,” a moniker that perfectly embodies the balance between its serenity and charisma.

In the late 1800s, it was a mining camp. These days, fewer than 200 people call Silver Plume home, but nature-inspired visitors flock to the area to experience what Colorado was like when mining was the way of life.

Silver Plume is isolated yet approachable. It feels remote but is only 45 minutes from Denver and 15 minutes from Loveland. And while passersby may not think of it as a hot wedding destination, it’s gaining traction among couples who want their weddings to be a unique and cozy experience.

The Bread Bar – An Unlikely Wedding Venue

On warm weekends, the living ghost town comes to life even more as people gather at Bread Bar. Their patio and small indoor area allow drinkers to enjoy a contemporary cocktail in a vintage setting.

The Bread Bar is an eclectic spot for weddings and events. Its rustic patio, simple lawn, and antique interior allow couples to hold a memorable, no-frills wedding with their nearest and dearest.

The venue has a rich history as a bakery during the 19th-century mining boom. Its renovations allow it to hold events, but its look stays true to the town’s old-fashioned vibes.

The Experience

Couples may host their ceremony outdoors at Bread Bar – their patio is at the foot of the mountains, and the quiet town is a serene setting for a ceremony. You can also wed nearby at the town’s historic chapel or on a scenic overlook in the surrounding mountains.

Your reception will be set up on the patio or under a tent in the yard. There is also access to the indoor bar, where small groups have gathered for dancing, and the venue can help you plan a craft cocktail menu.

Bring in food trucks for dinner, plan yard games, and hire live music. This is the perfect spot for couples who want to enjoy their guests at the wedding, instead of simply hosting them.

The Bread Bar has such a strong sense of place that a wedding here will be an entire experience, something unique to create core memories with your guests.

The Aesthetic

The Bread Bar has a vintage, eclectic look, and minimalism is key to matching its unique aesthetic. Lush greenery, moody florals, and bespoke details will elevate its simplistic nature.

Fans of the Wes Anderson aesthetic travel from far away to wed at this folksy venue, though it can work with any vintage or rustic vibe.

Choose a season that’s best for your vision. Wintertime brings snowy coziness, but accessing the venue can be challenging. In the summer, the surrounding mountains are bright green, and hummingbirds make their way to the patio. Springtime brings scenes of poppies with snowy accents, and autumn features golden light against warm-toned foliage.

As your Colorado wedding photographer and videographer, we’ll be sure to capture the unique look of your wedding any time of year.

Guests for a Bread Bar Wedding

The Bread Bar accepts groups of 25-70 for events, so it’s a perfect place for a micro wedding or intimate celebration. I love capturing events this size because it allows me to really get to know the couple and their guests. The immersive experience allows me to feel like I’m a part of something special.

Locals and out-of-state guests alike will love exploring the unique area, so create a wedding website informing them of nearby hotels and attractions.

Accommodations near Silver Plume

We recommend renting the Bread House, an Airbnb rental that embodies the same charm as the wedding venue. It’s a close place for you to get ready and a way to truly immerse yourself in the town. We can get photos there before heading to the ceremony.

But groups who need more accommodations can look at hotels in Loveland. It’s less than 15 minutes from the resort town, where guests will have more options for dining and activities. Consider a shuttle service to transfer your guests safely between locations.

Activities

Small museums and rail tours allow Silver Plume visitors to understand the town’s history and the culture of Rocky Mountain mining. There are also activities for all types of visitors nearby. Here are some favorite things to do near Silver Plume:

  • White Water Rafting down Clear Creek
  • Ski in Loveland
  • Have a natural spa day in Idaho Springs
  • Take a Brewery Tour
