How many hours do I need to hire a Colorado wedding videographer for?

When you're in the midst of wedding planning, there is a ton to consider. Once you decide which vendors you need, you also have to determine how much of their time is needed. Continue reading to learn more about how much time is needed for wedding videography.

7 HOURS OF WEDDING VIDEOGRAPHY COVERAGE
7 hours of videography coverage is the minimum amount of time recommended by Dgass Photography. After spending time at countless weddings, we have determined that this is often the minimum amount of time we need to document a wedding day and produce a cinematic highlight film. While this amount of time is perfect for some weddings and elopements, others may require slightly more or less time.

THINGS TO CONSIDER ABOUT 7 HOURS OF COVERAGE:
- 7 hours of coverage leaves less time for your videographer to film decor details and getting ready content

- However, you will have all of the most important parts of your wedding day captured. These parts include your wedding ceremony, speeches, first dances, cake cutting, some of the reception

- Your videography coverage will conclude mid-reception

8 HOURS OF WEDDING VIDEOGRAPHY COVERAGE
The 8/9 hour package is the most popular selection by our couples as it is the perfect amount of time for average size wedding (100-150 guests.) The additional time will allow your videographer more time to focus on the decor details and allow them to join the wedding party as they finish up getting ready earlier in the day.

THINGS TO CONSIDER ABOUT 8 HOURS OF COVERAGE:
- If you are planning on doing a first look, a minimum of 8 hours of wedding videography coverage is recommended.

-While 8 hours may feel like an endless amount of time, this amount of time works best when the wedding ceremony and reception are taking place at the same location

10 HOURS OF WEDDING VIDEOGRAPHY COVERAGE
Don't want to worry about time? Having a videographer on site for 10 hours will give you the sense of comfort you need. With your videographer on site for nearly the entire day will give you peace of mind knowing that they will be there to document all of the memories on your wedding day.

THINGS TO CONSIDER ABOUT 10 HOURS OF COVERAGE:
- You have more time for travel if your ceremony and reception will be taking place in separate locations
- Your videographer will be able to stay until the end of your reception

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHERE ARE YOU BASED?

We are based in Denver, Colorado and our team serves surrounding areas including: Breckenridge, Vail, Colorado Springs, Steamboat Springs, Rocky National Park,  & beyond.

HOW MANY VIDEOGRAPHERS WILL BE AT OUR WEDDING DAY?

The number of wedding videographers at your wedding will depend on the package you select. We always recommend a second filmmaker for weddings that are logistically challenging, if your guest count will exceed 150 guests, or if you are seeking multiple wedding videos.

WHEN'S THE BEST TIME TO BOOK?

If you think Dgass Photography is the best fit for your wedding, we recommend reserving your date as soon as you are comfortable with moving forward. We generally cap each year at 22 weddings and book dates on a first come first serve basis.

To reserve your date, we simply require a 50% retainer and a signed agreement.

HOW MANY HOURS DO YOU RECOMMEND?

To create our signature wedding film, we require a minimum of 7 hours of video coverage. 7 Hours is perfect for some couples, while others may require more time.  With most of our couples booking our videography services nearly a year in advance, we prefer to wait until we review your wedding timeline to determine if more time is needed. This generally occurs about 90 days before your wedding date.

DO YOU RECORD OUR AUDIO?

Definitely! We record your vows, toasts, and additional audio as needed throughout the day. It's always our goal to incorporate personally written vows, reception speeches, and/or letter readings into your highlight film.

HOW DO YOU CAPTURE HIGH QUALITY AUDIO?

We ensure that we get the best quality audio by using multiple back up sources throughout the day. We then take the best available audio source to use as the backbone and narrative of your wedding film.

WHAT DO YOU DO TO STAY DISCREET DURING THE WEDDING?

Our couples often tell us that we captured so many great moments, but they barely noticed us during their wedding day. It's always our goal to blend in as much as possible avoid being a distraction.

CAN WE CONNECT WITH YOU BEFORE THE WEDDING?

We'd love that! Just let us know when works well for you and we are happy to hop on a phone call or video meeting to discuss your wedding in further detail.

WHEN CAN I EXPECT TO RECEIVE MY WEDDING FILM?

Our goal is to deliver your wedding film as soon as the films are complete. We guarantee that you will receive your wedding film in 21 weeks or less.

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU GET SICK OR YOU ARE UNABLE TO  MAKE IT TO MY WEDDING?

We pride our selves on never having to use our back up photographer and videographer system, but we do have one in place. In the rare event that your scheduled photographer or videographer is unable to make it to your wedding, we have a list of prequalified photographers and videographers that we can easily reach out to and send in our place. We would then take care of all of the editing to ensure that the look of your wedding film stays cohesive with our work.

HOW DO YOU COORDINATE WITH WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS?

As a photography company ourselves, we understand the communication that is needed in order to properly coordinate with wedding photographers. Before your wedding we will connect with your photographer to discuss the details of your ceremony and reception to ensure that we are on the same page and can work as efficiently as possible for you and your partner.

DO YOU OFFER ELOPEMENT FILMS?

Yes! All of our Colorado wedding photography and videography packages can be adjusted to fit the needs of your elopement. We love helping couples with Colorado elopement videography and we can assist with finding epic locations.
