Residing in beautiful Estes Park, less than an hour and a half north of Denver, the Della Terra Mountain Chateau is truly something special. Whether you choose an indoor or outdoor venue space for your big day, they are equally unique and comforting – it feels as if you are in a home that you have known forever. Some places just welcome you that way, and this is certainly one of them.

 

Located just one mile outside the entrance to the Rockies, the location is a desirable one, and offers you and your guests plenty to do both on and off the property. While on Della Terra Chateau’s grounds, you’ll be treated to intimacy and familiarity and outside, the allure and beauty of the Rocky Mountains and wilderness that surrounds them.

ACCOMMODATIONS + AMENITIES 

 

Upon arriving, you immediately feel like you are in your own world, made special just for your and your wedding party. You are greeted with exquisite design details upon entering, such as stunning architecture featuring floor to ceiling windows with the Rockies serving as your backdrop and natural wood elements all throughout.

 

Della Terra Mountain Chateau offers several different venue spaces, including an outdoor devotion place, a celebration place (which could also be where vows are exchanged if you so choose), an outdoor patio, and an outdoor deck plus dressing areas on-site, luxurious honeymoon accommodations, and “the wedding experience of a lifetime”. 

 

For the bride, there is a pampering area that includes a bridal salon, dressing room, and posh lounge for you to enjoy while you are getting ready for the big day. Services such as a stylist and make-up artist are not included, but are available upon request. There is also an option to set up a bar area for you and your bridal party to have during this time.

 

For the groom, there is a Theatre where groomsmen often go to hangout, and a bar is also available to be set up here prior to the festivities. This could also be used as a waiting or gathering area.

 

The Della Terra Mountain Chateau offers lodging on-site, so everybody can stay and celebrate together – this is one of my favorite aspects of this venue. If you choose to stay with the Chateau for your guest accommodations, they offer fourteen luxury suites that each have their own fireplace, private balcony and hot tub. Other luxury suites are available as well if you happen to need more (they offer mountain cabins on the property, too). 

 

With each wedding package, the bride and groom will receive a complimentary honeymoon suite and four additional optional suites for you to reserve for your guests at a discounted rate.

After being a wedding photographer all these years, I’ve come to know that most guests make a mini-vacation out of weddings that they will be traveling for, especially here in lovely Colorado, so I wanted to make a list of some fun things for you all to enjoy in and around the Della Terra Mountain Chateau if you choose this beautiful venue for your big day. While the Mountain Chateau itself feels secluded and far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, there is much to do just around the corner. Without further ado, here are some of my favorite activities in Estes Park.

 

• Visit the Stanley Hotel

This masterpiece of a hotel is iconic – it’s the place that inspired Stephen King’s “The Shining”. In and of itself, it’s a true beauty, cradled in the forest greens and if you’re into this kind of thing – it’s said to be haunted. Ghost tours are offered daily. 

• Play Golf at Estes Park Golf Course

Calling all golf lovers. Estes Park Golf Course features eighteen holes and is one beautiful course, with the Rockies towering in the background. You might be joined by a few furry friends from time to time (think deer and elk), and that’s also pretty cool. 

• Enjoy Estes Park Riverwalk

Wildlife is also known to be prevalent along the riverwalk, and that’s the best of both worlds because just on the other side of the river and trees are entrances to tons of local shops and restaurants. City meets nature at its finest.

• Explore the Rocky Mountains

This one’s a no-brainer – but an absolute must. Estes Park is known as the gateway to the Rockies and for good reason. The scenic beauty is enough to take your breath away, and while you’re in town for an already love-filled event, there seems no better way to top off the celebration than rekindling a romance with mother nature herself.

• Shop Local

I love to shop local whenever I can, and there are some great shops owned by some awesome people around town. Check out the Taffy Shop (they’ve been around since 1935!) for a snack, Estes Park Mountain Shop for cool souvenirs, and Earthwood Artisans for interesting art pieces.
