If you’re looking to cut costs on your wedding, one of the best things to do is book a venue with flexible food & beverage policies. Being able to bring in your own alcohol and choosing your own caterer will help you save money, plus it allows you to better customize your reception.
Below is a list of Colorado wedding venues allowing couples to choose their own caterer and/or bring their own alcohol. Here are a few things to keep in mind as you browse this list:
- BYOC = Bring Your Own Caterer. This means you can select from either a vast list of preferred partners or choose any licensed caterer that you want.
- Most BYOC venues don’t allow potlucks or DIY food – it must be from a professional caterer.
- BYOB = Bring Your Own Alcohol. This means you supply the alcohol for your event, which you can purchase from a distributor or retailer.
- Most BYOB venues will require you to have a TIPS certified bartender serving any alcohol. You can usually get this through your caterer.
- Some BYOB venues only allow beer or wine, while others allow hard liquor as long as it’s in a mixed drink (so no shots or straight pours).
- Always confirm the food and beverage policies with your venue, as the options on this list may change quickly.
- Guest capacity can vary based on indoor or outdoor settings, whether or not you have a dance floor and buffet set up, and if it’s a cocktail-style reception or a seated dinner.
