If there’s one thing I can guarantee, it’s that your wedding will never go exactly as planned. It’s a harsh reality, but it’s so true.
During a recent trip to Nebraska to shoot Dan and Sarah’s wedding, the unthinkable happened. The charter bus came to the hotel to pick up the wedding party and bring us to the ceremony. Shortly after we hopped in, the bus began chugging up the road and died within minutes. Sadly the bus company didn’t have a backup vehicle and suggested we hoof it. (If you’re reading this from Colorado, simply note that Nebraska humidity is a new breed of heat..)
If there’s anything we learned from this day, it’s that you have to keep a smile on your face and back up plan at all times.
Despite this traumatic episode, I continued documenting this new adventure and recommended that we utilize one of the local rideshare apps.
See if you can find the photos of us exiting the bus and hopping into an Uber!
For reasons like this, I have put together a Vendor Selection Planner with a list of questions to ask your wedding vendors during the interview process. Ensuring THEY have a backup plan when things go south, will make for a stress-free wedding day.
