Welcome To SNARFBURGER!

The Story:

Q: Let’s start at the beginning. How did you two first meet?

A: We met five years ago at a small, local burger shack in Boulder, Colorado. Our two groups of friends rushed to Snarf Burger before it closed to get a late night bite. Not ready to stop a Saturday night party so soon, our two groups of friends ended up going back to Morgan’s house to eat our burgers, have a few more beers, and get to know one another. After that night our two groups of friends became one, and our friendship turned into the beautiful relationship we have today.

Q: What makes your relationship special? Tell us some things that you both value in your time together. What makes your relationship unique?

A: Looking back five years, we both are amazed at how much we have grown together. We are constantly challenging each other intellectually and socially. Dalton pushes Morgan to trust in her intellect and never take the easy way out. Morgan encourages Dalton to try new things and step out of his comfort zone. We are lucky to enjoy many hobbies together like brewing beer, skiing, mountain biking, and exploring used bookstores.

Q: How did you know your partner was the one? When did you first know this in your relationship? (these may often be the same moment, but aren’t always)

A: From Morgan: I don’t know if I believe in soulmates, but if I did, I would think that when soulmates find each other, there is no moment when you “fall in love” because you already know you are. This is how it is for me with Dalton. There was no defining moment when I “knew he was the one”, but rather, I’ve always felt a warm, familiar feeling inside being with him. Like coming home from a long day and crawling into a warm, comfortable bed. From Dalton: There was not so much one defining moment, but instead an aggregate of fun and exploration. We were always trying new things and going to new places. It was always comfortable with Morgan. I started to notice that Morgan brought out qualities in me that I enjoyed. This allowed our relationship to become even better with time.

Q: Give us all the details about the proposal. How and where did it happen? Was it a surprise? What was the planning process?

A: During our Spring Break in 2015, we took an amazing road trip from Colorado to California to camp and see the Redwood forest. It was the longest road trip we had been on together and was a defining time in our relationship. Fast forward to Spring Break 2018, we were now living in California and decided to take a road trip to Washington. Dalton planned the route so we would stay at the same places and go on the same hike through the redwoods that we did in 2015. After a while walking through the giant trees, Dalton set his camera on a tripod so we could get a picture, but instead of posing for the camera, he got down on one knee (getting the whole thing on video)! To make things even more special, when we got to Washington, Dalton surprised Morgan with her immediate family being there to celebrate! Dalton started planning the big proposal about a year in advance, working with Morgan’s dad to make it a whole weekend of surprises!

Q: We’re all about the bling… Tell us all about that ring!

A: My ring is simple, beautiful, and everything I’ve always wanted. It was really important to me to have a conflict-free ring so Dalton went to Brilliant Earth to assure my diamond and gold were produced with people and the planet in mind. It is a delicate yellow gold band with a shiny one caret, oval cut diamond.

Q: Are you excited to start planning your wedding day? Do you have any ideas in mind yet?

A: We have been planning the wedding almost since the day Dalton proposed! We already have a beautiful outdoor venue in Lyons, Colorado. The venue has amazing sandstone cliffs, a river running through, and a tiny house resort for guests! We have been having fun searching for caterers and bands and Morgan has already tried on a handful of wedding dresses! Both being in graduate school, we were worried that wedding planning would get overwhelming quickly but we have done pretty well so far!
