Let’s start at the beginning. How did you two first meet?
Meghan was out to dinner with a coworker, who asked if she’d be willing to be set up on a blind date! Meghan said “I probably shouldn’t say no to these things at this point” and agreed!! We met up at a cute restaurant in Fort Collins, where we had wine flights and pizza. We ended up meeting up three more that first week!
How did you know your partner was the one?
Meghan– I knew Andy was the one by how kind he is to me daily, and also how much he makes me laugh! Our shared interests, like mountain biking and home DIY projects make life fun as well!
Andy–I knew Meghan was the one when I found out she could handle herself on a snowboard! Her grace and beauty astound me, and I find that her sweet personality comes through in everything she undertakes. I trapped her on a ski chairlift to tell her that I loved her the first time!
Give us all the details about the proposal. How and where did it happen? Was it a surprise? What was the planning process like?
To start, we took a trip to Chicago to visit a jeweler that had made pieces for Meghan’s family in the past. We were after a special ring! Once the ring was picked out, Meghan started the countdown (knowing how long it would take to ship) so it wasn’t entirely a surprise. However, Andy managed to take his time. A few weeks later we planned on cutting down a Christmas tree on the land that Andy’s parents own; the trip was successful, and towards the end while taking pictures with another couple who went up with us, Andy got down on one knee! 🙂
TELL US ALL ABOUT THE RING!
We decided to go with an independent jeweler who is located in Chicago. She specializes in asymmetrical cluster rings that Meghan has just fallen in love with. Many people try to describe the setting, and we’ve heard: a flower, my cat’s paw, a comet! I love it, and I think that it’s the most beautiful ring I’ve ever seen!
How do you want your wedding day to look and feel?
We want our wedding to feel very much like a celebration of family and love. We want it to feel intimate and special, and focused on fun, good food, time for conversation, dancing and good drinks! It feels like a Colorado paradise at Blackstone, and we want to share that with our family and friends! We hope to document candid photos of us engaged in fun times with those we love most!
Gorgeous photos–you capture all the love and joy so beautifully. I love your mini interview with the couple, too. It’s so great to hear from them first hand. Great work!
